This site has several interesting points, including a large G.A.R. memorial, and an interesting tree trunk monument. In 1922, a young woman named Meda (Dudgeon) Hodell was accused and convicted of murdering her father-in-law  David Hodell, who was buried here. During the course of the sensational trial, Mr. Hodell's body was exhumed several times, and there are persistent rumors as to whether or not he was reburied at this site. However, a marker bearing his name remains. Meda's husband Romie also died under suspicious circumstances several months later, and is buried in the Goodwell Township cemetery. Despite the conviction, in this editor's opinion there is little evidence to show that Mrs. Hodell was guilty of this crime, or of involvement in her husband's death. There is also an unmarked paupers field. The site is located adjacent to the Ashland Center Church of Christ.
