Evens (Also referred to as Evans)
086.00.553W
Although county maps show the spelling of the nearby lake to be Evans, this site is identified as Evens and census records show the name spelled with an "e" as well. It is not clear whether this is merely a coincidence, or if at some point in time a spelling error was made and never corrected. Regardless, this is a very pretty, small location, well tended with both old and current burials. Of particular interest is the stone shown in the 6th image in the gallery below which although largely sunken into the ground, shows an exceptional carving. There are many instances of multiple generations of the same family buried here.
