Area Map

Hamburg Road (41.20.606N, 080.20.433W)

A small site along the border of an area park.

Linninger Road (41.23.637N, 080.25.746W)

Old and largely overgrown, the oldest graves I have found in Mercer County are here.

Old St. John's / Delaware Township (41.19.931N, 080.19.110W)

My favorite Mercer County site ... The area's strong German heritage is evident in the stones and inscriptions. To the east of the old church, the Delaware Township cemetery appears to still be active. Sarah Ann Meyer's grave is the first on the left, closest to the church.

Old Salem (41.21.760N, 080.21.262W)

This site has many old burials, stones wrapped by tree roots and eroded by wind, rain, snow and time.  Particularly interesting is the plot of the Linn Family, at least 5 members of which all died in October and November, 1864.

Trout Island (41.15.580N, 080.27.436W)

A small site which suddenly appears around a bend in the road ...
