A newspaper article (unk025.jpg) by  Stan J. Woodard from the files of the Fremont District Library indicates that this now abandoned site may have been know as Indian, Anscomb or Chidester Cemetery, but there is no longer any sign to provide a positive identification. The article also states that there may be Native American burials as well as early settlers buried here, and while there was certainly a large native population in the area, it would be out of the norm for whites and Native Americans to be buried in the same location.
